INDO-MIM: “The Champion of Champions”

INDO-MIM has won the “ALL INDIA FIRST PRIZE” in Productivity Award, at the recently concluded “National Productivity Summit 2020”.

IMTMA (Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association), Bangalore conducts productivity champion competition every year to recognize the breakthrough improvements and rewards outstanding productivity done in the manufacturing industry. This year INDO-MIM participated from its Doddaballapura plant in Bangalore. Various industries submitted their projects or case studies, out of which a jury comprising of industry experts selected the best and the winner was presented with ‘IMTMA – ACE Micromatic Productivity Championship’ Awards. More than 100 industries entered the competition and after critical evaluation, 12 industries were selected for the final round. The participants included major manufacturing giants like TVS motor company, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Hitachi, Hero Motors, BHEL, Yuken India, Brakes India etc. Amidst a tough competition,INDO-MIM was selected as “The Champion of Champions”.

INDO-MIM Project: Automation & Robotics, a case study on reducing manual intervention to boost productivity in MIM (Metal Injection Molding) parts.

The project highlighted and touched upon the 3 year-journey, and the transition from a molding shop that was run with low number of cavities and 100% manual operation to an automated molding shop with larger number of cavities. Using a specific case study, it was shown as to how the automation was horizontally deployed across 300 varieties of parts through use of MULTI-cavity tools.

INDO-MIM has progressed very well in automation in the recent years, and this is a testimony of its capability to do breakthrough innovation
