Aerospace Solutions Group (ASG): A complete Guide to Precision CNC Machining

In aerospace sector its majorly depending on CNC machining because extremely high level of precision needed within the aerospace industry makes CNC machining a suitable manufacturing process for the sector.

Aerospace components required safety, every aircraft component must meet the highest industry standards. There is no room for human error in the production and assembly of an aircraft.

What Is Aerospace CNC Machining?

Aerospace CNC machining is the process of manufacturing precision parts and assemblies for aircraft and space shuttles. These components are typically made from materials such as Titanium, Kovar, aluminum, stainless steel, copper, bronze, and certain plastics to ensure their reliability and safety.

Materials for Aerospace CNC Machined Components?

In the aerospace sector, stringent material specifications are important for components manufacturing. Typically, materials should resist strength and durability while maintaining a relatively low weight. Among the maximum widely desired substances across various aerospace markets is aluminum. As the 1/3 maximum plentiful detail on Earth, aluminum is a price-effective choice because of its enough availability. While its hardness and power can vary by series, aluminum is known for its ease of shaping and machining.

INDO-MIM is certified with AS9100 Rev D and NADCAP approved special processes.

 Special Processes:

To address the one-stop shop strategy, we have invested significantly in the special process lines. We offer NDT, chemical processing, painting and surface enhancement technologies to the aerospace industry. The special processes shop is open to third-party work and is not captive to Indo-MIM’s aerospace machine shop. The NDT, chemical processing (chromic acid, sulphuric acid and conversion coating lines) and painting lines are NADCAP approved.

We have also received the prestigious quality approvals from OEM aerospace major Pratt & Whitney USA and from tier one companies including Meggitt PLC and Rafael (Israel). Indo-MIM is the first company in India to be approved by Pratt & Whitney’s Materials Control Laboratory for NDT (FPI and MPI) and Chromic Acid Anodizing processes.
